![]() Then into the shop where they have run diagnostics and shows everything is working properly. So I have clean reinstalled Snow Leopard and GB several times. I called Applecare - the GB11 is brand new, and they were very obliging but it seems all they can do is step you through reinstall processes. (By the way there are no options to change caches on latest versions of Apple software) On one instance is crashed and gave a Type 1 error. the progress bar, which should be green when there are plenty of system resources, is showing red all the time. Thanks all - isolated the problem as being that GB was thinking that the system is overloading, for no good reason, i.e. (OK, maybe I just have to go pay someone at the shop). Has Apple said anything about this problem? I found only an entry in Support saying skipping occurs in Apples with two processors and just upgrade to 10.1. What gets me, though, is that I have spent several weeks trawling all sorts of forums and am amazed at how common this complaint is, and that it appears in the audio of a whole range of applications, but no-one seems to have drawn the threads together. ![]() My local Apple shop suggests it may well be a hardware problem. ![]() ![]() I have trashed prefs, I have created new profiles, I have fixed permissions, all to no avail. I have a 2.66iMac 4Gb, no interface (just using a little mixer into the audio), I have upgraded to 10.6.6 and Garageband 11. The problem is similar to the often reported problems people have with youtube and embedded audio in browsers. For the few months so I have been having audio skipping/stuttering on all audio applications: iTunes, Garageband, Audacity, Quicktime. Hi all, new to this forum and hoping for some advice to resolve a long-standing problem. ![]()
